Bintang 'Transformers' Shia Labeouf ditangkap polisi saat dirinya berada di Chichago, Amerika Serikat pada 2007 lalu untuk syuting film 'Indiana Jones'. Aktor berumur 24 tahun itu ditangkap polisi karena masuk toko Wallgreens dalam keadaan mabuk. Labeouf juga tidak mengindahkan permintaan petugas keamanan toko yang memintanya untuk keluar. Belakangan diketahui kalau bintang 'Disturbia' itu sudah bolak-balik ke toko itu sebanyak tiga kali karena lupa beli rokok.

Pada 2008 lalu, pebasket Charles Barkley harus berurusan dengan polisi karena mobil yang dikendarainya menerobos lampu merah Scottsdale Arizona, Amerika Serikat. Mantan bintang 'Houston Rockets' itu dikenai hukuman karena dianggap DUI (Driving Under Influence). Lucunya, saat ditangkap polisi, Barkley mengaku sedang terburu-buru untuk menemui seorang PSK yang akan melakukan oral seks kepadanya. Ia juga sempat 'menyogok' polisi dengan iming-iming akan membuat tato bertuliskan nama polisi yang bisa membantunya keluar dari masalah.

Seorang lelaki buta memasuki rumah makan. 
Benny pemilik rumah makan sekaligus berperan sebagai pelayan datang sambil menyodorkan daftar menu.

"Saya orang buta, tentu saja tidak bisa membaca daftar menu, tolong bawakan sendok kotor yang telah dipakai pengunjung sebelumnya dan saya akan menciumnya. Dari situ nanti saya akan tahu masakan apa yang enak untuk dipesan," kata lelaki buta tersebut.

Ia menciumnya dan berkata, "Saya pesan pepes ikan mas dan sayur asam".

Dengan agak terperanjat Benny menulis pesanannya. Menu itu memang menjadi pesanan favorit rumah makan itu.

Beberapa hari kemudian, lelaki buta tersebut datang lagi. Sekali lagi Ia minta sendok bekas pakai untuk dibaui, tetapi bukan yang habis dipakai untuk makan pepes dan sayur asam. Hanya ada satu sendok yang habis dipakai untuk menu lainnya.

"Bau sendok ini enak juga, sepertinya habis dipakai untuk makan ayam bakar dengan lalapan dan sambal terasi."

Benny mengiyakan dan l elaki buta pun memesan masakan itu. Lelaki buta utk ketiga kalinya datang lagi dikemudian hari. Ia datang lebih awal ketika belum ada satu pengunjungpun yang datang sehingga tidak ada bekas sendok pakai yang bisa disodorkan. Entah darimana datangnya tiba-tiba sifat iseng Benny muncul.

Ia mendatangi isterinya yang berperan sebagai tukang masak didapur. Disodorkannya sebuah sendok dan berkata,"Lilis, kamu usapkan sendok ini dianu-mu"
"Apa-apaan sih, Mas??!!!" tanya Lilis tidak mengerti.
"Udahlah nurut aja demi kemajuan rumah makan kita" kata Benny setengah memaksa.

Lilis pun menurut, mengusapkan sendok di "anu-nya" dan mengembalikannya ke Benny. Dibawanya sendok tersebut ke lelaki buta yang sedang duduk menunggu. Begitu Ia membauinya, sambil mengusap keningnya, lelaki buta itu berkata,

"Haahh!! Lilis kerja disini,...???

Seorang anak kecil duduk diantara anak tangga di sebuah bangunan dengan topi di kakinya.

Dia memegang sebuah papan yang bertuliskan : "Aku buta, tolong aku."
Saat itu hanya ada beberapa koin saja di dalam topinya.

Kemudian seorang pria melintas di depannya.
Pria itu mengambil beberapa koin dalam kantongnya dan menaruhnya ke dalam topi anak tersebut.
Pria itu kemudian mengambil papan pada anak kecil itu, membalikkan papan itu dan menulis sesuatu disana, lalu memberikannya kembali dan berjalan meninggalkan anak kecil tersebut.

Sesaat kemudian begitu banyak orang yang memberikan uang kepada anak kecil yang buta itu dan segera topi itu terisi semakin penuh.
Pada sore harinya pria yang mengganti tulisan di papan tadi, melintas kembali untuk melihat perubahan apa yang terjadi.

Anak kecil itu mengenali suara langkah kakinya dan bertanya, "Apakah kamu yang mengganti tulisan pada papanku pagi hari ini?
Apa yang kamu tulis?"
Pria terseb ut menjawab, "Aku menulis apa yang kamu tulis, hanya saja dengan cara yang berbeda.
Aku menulis : Hari ini adalah hari yang indah, hanya saja aku tidak bisa melihatnya." :)

Kedua kalimat tersebut memberi arti yang sama bahwa anak kecil itu tidak bisa melihat karena ia buta.

Kalimat 1 memberitahukan secara langsung bahwa anak kecil tersebut buta.

Sedangkan kalimat 2 memberitahukan bahwa anak itu mensyukuri hari ini walau ia tidak bisa melihat indahnya, dan mereka sungguh beruntung bahwa mereka tidak buta.

Yang bisa kita petik dari cerita ini adalah Berpikir dengan cara yang positif.
Ketika hidup memberi kamu 100 alasan untuk menangis, tunjukkanlah bahwa hidup juga memberi kamu 1.000 alasan untuk tersenyum.

This position is an add to staff at within the IMG group of a large institution located in King of Prussia, PA, a short commute from Philadelphia and very close to the NYS/PA border.
JOB SUMMARY:
This person is responsible for the production and review of investment analytics of the IMG subadvisors and their products. Perform analysis on risk/return statistics, two factor and multi-factor expost risk analysis. Will also be responsible for implementing the institutional investment process on all passive investments, and provide additional level of analysis for the Senior Consultants on subadvised mandates in our funds.

RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to AVP, Manager Strategies

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Produces and reviews investment performance reports, securities holdings and other information received or requested on specific investment portfolios.
2. Serves as a subject matter expert in conducting expert analysis of mutual funds and other investment products. Monitors existing funds/managers for satisfactory performance.
3. Uses expert understanding of technical criteria for selection and monitoring of sub-advisors of products and/or third party funds included in our products.
4. Uses data acquired from studies of investment market and strong knowledge of the relationship between various types of investments to provide consultation around portfolio structuring.
5. Reviews industry trends to identify and monitor top investment managers to determine their potential effectiveness within IMG.
6. Conducts on-site investment due diligence with IMG sub-advisors that manage passive products.
7. Enhances the Quantitative Model as defined by the particular fund's mandate; screens the Quant Model for appropriate candidates, and works with other team members to choose due diligence candidates.
8. Supports marketing when developing sub-advisor related sales collateral, brochures, etc.
9. Manages relationships with certain database providers (i.e., FactSet, Morningstar, Lipper) as requested by management.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business, finance, economics, accounting or a related field. Graduate studies preferred.

License/Certifications: CFA / FRM/CIMA certification preferred.

Experience: 5 years related experience in Financial Services investment management, including subadvisor selection administration.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of investment products, sub-advisor selection administration, and distribution strategy. Strong knowledge of investment, performance measurement, and style analysis. Understands the dynamics of selecting and managing sub-advisor relationships. Expert knowledge of all vendor software utilized by Manager Strategies team (FactSet, Morningstar, etc.).

Skills/Competencies: Demonstrated technical knowledge of investments, sub-advisor selection, and industry dynamics. Adept at building relationships both internally and externally. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional: Regularly and consistently demonstrates appropriate Values and Guiding Behaviors. May require occasional travel.

Responsibilities:
Maintain working knowledge of changes in healthcare delivery system and insurance regulations in NYS by attending relevant trainings, actively seeking information and representing University Settlement and The Door at joint meetings with member organizations and coalitions.
Implement and manage the day to day billing operations and of Article 28 Health Clinic and Article 31 Mental Health Clinic.
Develop policies and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Work with health center staff and physicians to ensure that the correct diagnosis and procedures are reported to Medicare/Medicaid and third party insurance.
Monitor claims for missing information and work with providers and staff to resolve all payment issues.
Work closely with the IT department to track receivables, resubmit denied claims as necessary, prepare reports for funding sources and for internal, organizational purposes and troubleshoot system software and hardware.
Prepare for and assist with health center, Medicaid and third party provider audits.
Train and oversee medical systems and billing staff and provide necessary training and guidance to the clinical staff.
Complete other relevant projects as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, medical billing certification preferred
Minimum of five years' experience working at a senior level, skilled in Accounting with Medicaid, Medicare and third-party billing
Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, CPT codes and CMS billing procedures required
Substantial knowledge and use of medical billing software and electronic health records (Accumedic and E-Clinical Works preferred)
Strong interpersonal, supervisory and analytical skills and excellent oral and written communications skills
Demonstrated ability to manage programs and staff in order to meet measurable outcomes
Willingness to provide technical instruction to medical and non-medical staff alike
Must be able to work effectively and creatively as part of an interdisciplinary team

Reports to Director, Merchandise Information Systems 
 
Key Accountabilities: 
  • Manage the systems that allow merchants to control pricing of all merchandise.  $11 billion in annual gross price change volume.
  • Play a key role in testing, training, integration of new Markdown Optimization software with existing internal Macy's Pricing platform
  • Ensure that Price Integrity is maintained and supported at all times through enforcement of policies and procedures and to optimize efficiencies in the process for Buying Line and Store-Line.
  • Liaison with Merchant, Store-line, Divisional Operations, Macys System and Technology (MST) organizations in coordinating day to day efforts as well as longer term needs
  • Be integral in strategic problem solving and development of creative methods for supporting merchant organization
  • Manage and develop analysts and clericals responsible for running the operations of the Price Change and SIGN departments
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Knowledgeable of Zone and National pricing systems, Sign systems and the interfaces to other systems including item/basics file, purchase order, and stock systems.
  • Manage an audit process to ensure pricing integrity by merchants and store-line and timely resolution of pricing discrepancies
  • Manage various pricing tests conducted in pilot FOBs or LOCs/zones to ensure that pricing objectives are met.
  • Coordinate and liaise with MST to develop, test and install systems upgrades, as needed
  • Partner and coordinate with Human Resource, Merchant and Divisional Operations pyramids to communicate and train policies and procedures of systems under responsibility to store-line and buying line
  • Responsive to questions/challenges from all buyers, DMM's and GMM levels to support existing and new methods for pricing of merchandise
  • Meet regularly with representatives from Loss Prevention, Divisional Operations, HR and Selling Services to coordinate monthly and seasonal Pricing workload
  • Routinely conduct meetings with subordinates and staff to manage projects timely and generate quality product; assure adequate training and development of staff

Skills Summary:
  •  3 to 5 years prior experience in managing subordinates
  • Familiar with using computer systems in daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to analyze and review data and information in a manner that shows ability to understand the business, identify opportunities and creatively problem solve
