About the Job
A hands-on working manager position responsible for leading a team that assesses small business credit risk and evaluates borrowers capacity to repay their loan.
 Manage the underwriting team and develop skills of staff members
 Review and verify credit documentation including bank statements, credit reports, etc.
 Develop the borrower's profile and determine credit evaluation/recommendation
 Work with loan officers in obtaining needed credit information and verifying data accuracy
 Propose revisions to credit limit or interest rates as appropriate for qualified borrowers
Qualified Candidates
 Demonstrated underwriting experience and comfortable leading a credit evaluation team
 Knowledge of credit evaluation principles, borrower research and general credit principles
 Excellent organizational skills, ability to accurately evaluate credit variables and reach conclusions
 Technically savvy and possess job-related computer skills
 5+ years of credit underwriting/evaluation experience
 Full background check and results must be clean
 Bachelors degree in business/finance
Description/Expectations
 Establish efficient work flow procedures for the underwriting department
 Attention to detail and credit evaluation acumen during the underwriting process
 Good communication skills, comfortable sharing information with colleagues and senior personnel
 Manage, organize and prioritize team's work tasks
 Complete credit evaluations under tight schedules
 Prepare loan documents and loan funding approval package
 Prepare daily/weekly management information reports
 Flexible working hours
Compensation $60k - $70k per year, based on qualifications
