TNTP seeks a Senior Financial Analyst for our Finance Department. The position will be based at our central office in Brooklyn, NY as is available immediately. This position also requires occasional travel, including one organization-wide conference per year.

Finance Department

The Finance Department develops and executes the fiscal strategy for our growing and financially-thriving organization. The department manages budget development and monitoring; financial reporting; audits; internal controls and policies; and other accounting operations.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to a Finance Director, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing a variety of projects and ultimately be responsible for adding capacity to the Finance Department to ensure internal client satisfaction and external client satisfaction with the services offered by Finance.

Specifically, the Senior Financial Analyst will:

Serve as an important part of TNTP's business development efforts by assisting in the creation of budget models for new business opportunities, and contract renewals
Manage program revenue by tracking and reconciling. Work with Group partner's to ensure org-wide revenue goals are being met in the short and long term
Work closely with program staff to forecast individual client budgets, analyze variances, and provide guidance to ensure budgetary goals are met
Assist in the production of TNTP's org-wide operating budget and other forecasts
with the Development team in the documentation and narrative
Perform financial analysis and other ad hoc projects, which may include scenario planning for new and existing business opportunities and analyses on pricing schemes, among others.
Evaluate processes with respect to efficiency and effectiveness
Propose improvement initiatives and assist in the implementation of approved initiatives, including the rollout of a new budget system
Ensure books and records are accurate and closed in a timely manner
Provide support for year-end, interim and audit work as required
Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Responsibilities may also include:

Prepare reporting on any government or foundation grant expenditures and collaborate with the Development team in the documentation and narrative
Assisting in the creation of budget models for grant proposals
Assisting in the review of the indirect costs and rate proposal
Providing support on questions related to monthly variance reports and possibly assist in collections and billing

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who believe in our organization's mission and who display a record of achievement. Specifically, they will also have:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent relevant experience
At least 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or operations (preferred)
Experience with managing financial models and business line budgeting
Excellent computer skills including database management
Strong skills in Excel a must. Experience with Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, or other project management tools a plus
Experience with the following financial systems a plus, but not required: ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX), Atlas, FRx, Forecaster, TE systems (e.g., Concur), time and attendance systems (e.g., Stromberg, Kronos), purchase order/requisition systems
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and project management, written and verbal communication skills
Superior quantitative skills
The ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization and consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions
The ability to successfully manage and develop staff (preferred)
Experience with non profits preferred but not required
The ability to identify challenges, actively work to find solutions and make ongoing process improvements
The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well work independently
The ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment
Track record of excellent customer service
Willingness to work non-standard hours and occasional weekends

Compensation

The annual salary for this full-time position is $60,000 or commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for a performance based bonus.
