Business & Financial Research Summer Internship at Internet Co. (Chelsea)

Our financial data company is seeking a Summer Intern to help grow our proprietary and innovative research database. Though we are currently a small, entrepreneurial team, comparable companies include Reuters, Bloomberg, Venture Beat, and Hoovers. The Summer Intern will report directly to one of our lead Business Associates. The intern will also have an opportunity to learn from a successful entrepreneur (winner of Crain's Top Entrepreneur award and Wharton Business School's Entrepreneur-in-Residence).

This position is ideal for a college Freshman or Sophomore enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another business-related major.

Location: Chelsea

Commitment: 40 Hours/Week, 10-12 weeks minimum

Start Date: May (as soon as possible)

End Date: Open

Compensation:
Hourly pay begins at $9 per hour (based upon experience and performance)
Exceptional performance will be rewarded with a letter of recommendation from a well-respected entrepreneur

Responsibilities:
Given the start-up nature of the Company, the intern will develop a broad range of responsibilities in addition to the following:
Perform research, Microsoft Excel preparation, manipulation, quality assurance review and import of company financial and deal data into an online database
Perform business and financial research on specific companies, private market investors, industries, and deals
Grow our proprietary research platform by conducting web research to gather company profile data
Occasional administrative duties

Qualifications:
In addition to having a get-it-done attitude and being highly resourceful, the ideal candidate displays the following characteristics:
Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another business-related major
Proficient in Microsoft Office (with a strong emphasis on Excel, macros/VB a plus)
Strong attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and ability and desire to learn quickly
Sincerely interested in business financial news (private equity, venture capital, MA)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with SEC filings a plus (10-Ks, 8-Ks, S-1s, etc.)
