Investment Associate (New York City)

A leading private equity fund, is looking for a pre-MBA Associate to join their New York office. The Associate will focus on sourcing and analyzing investments in small and midsized companies. The firm primarily focuses on under-appreciated, under-followed, or under-capitalized businesses, whether they are small public companies, non-core divisions of larger companies, restructurings, or simply good companies in out-of-favor industries. In every investment we work closely and patiently with management to help transform businesses into larger and more successful operations.

Responsibilities:
Analysts lead our effort to source investments. They speak with more than 1,000 management teams each year, attend conferences, review industry journals, and are an integral part of the Firm's investment process. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with due diligence, performing financial analyses, helping to manage portfolio company relationships, and assisting portfolio companies on tasks such as market analysis and potential add-on acquisition targeting.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong record of academic achievement at the undergraduate level from a leading university with previous work experience in financial consulting, banking (including institutional sales and private wealth management), technology, or financial sales. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership skills with GPA of 3.5 or higher. The analyst role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, competitive self-starter who is outgoing, charismatic, and analytical. Success in the position requires a sales-oriented mentality with compensation directly related to success sourcing high quality investments.
